Indirectly related: That's the one thing I love about Ice Cube to this day... He helped several West Coast acts get into the entertainment industry whether via music and/or television and mangaged to "stay out of their way" and allow them to flourish. I'd never put Yo-Yo amongst the greatest of MCs, female or male, but she definitely made an impact during the early to mid-90s, with "You Better Ask Somebody" (1993) being her best overall release.

East coast... West Coast... To hell with regionalism, these Ohio emcees laid down some of the best verses ever in hip-hop. This album is in the Top 10 of my personal all-time favorites list. The lyrics on "Read My Lips," "Let It Out," and "All the Way Live (feat. Q-Tip)" are examples of devastating wordplay and ideally put 90% of today's "rappers" to shame. New, used, whatever, if you haven't heard this release, pick up/borrow a copy ASAP!
