Anyone ever play the "find the mistakes" cartoon thing in the rags back when?

Most email scams are SO phony they are a joke.
I delete most spam without even opening it.
This at least had a semi-legit heading, although I knew it was crap, but took a look.

This one works it really hard and still is a joke.
Looks like someone thinks a lot of acronyms make things look "official".
"D"."U"."M"."B"."A"."S"."S".

You have to be alert not only online but on the phone now. The person on the phone is now faking a headset problem and says something like "can you hear me" or something similar to get you to say "yes". They then will steal from you in some fashion. In the meantime they have recorded your voice saying yes and they use this to prove that you did accept whatever it is they are stealing from you. The amounts these people steal is overwhelming and old people are often the victims. They make me sick, as these type of people ripped my mother off with a lottery scam over the phone, back in the 70/90s which cost her close to $60,000. I would kill them if I could.

Everyone out there be very careful about receiving calls from unknown #s and whatever you do, don't say "yes". You must keep your guard up 24/7.

Yeah, that perky, giggly girl called me a few times. With any call, the first thing I say is "are you a real person?" ..then I hang up. no matter what they say, or don't say.

"In the custody of the United States Secret Agent" LOL

Napoleon Solo? Our Man Flint? Dean Martin? James West? They could be more specific...

OR Maxwell Smart, of C.O.N.T.R.O.L.

Figures they would be cryptic

Don't forget that the mistakes are often deliberate, to filter out those too intelligent to be sucked in by the scam. :) those who respond after that are all 'cold meat' in the mind of the scammers.
