Hi folks, I had a closer look a the power switch today and began to "tin" the connections when I realised that my switch has 4 WIRED contacts. (please excuse the mess of the wires, that I will sort later!)

The other switches I have seen only have 2. So my question is, which 2 points to I solder the cap & resistor to?

Those solder connections look pretty burned up. All of the connections good? I'm thinking it has been replaced in the past and they didn't put a snubber back in. At any rate, I think you could put the snubber between the. brown and yellow. Hopefully someone will confirm.

Okay, that was my guess but want to be sure before I plug it in...

Someone has definitely been in there. I would replace the switch as well while you're at it.

UPDATE

Well folks, today I got the snubber cap and resistor installed and voila! The pop is gone!

I would like to thank you all for the help and guidance in this post.

Strange Marantz didn't install a snubber at the factory...
