Well, first of all it was a home built kit helicopter that had not flown for years.

And he thought he could just rebuild the engine (essentially almost a marine outboard motor) and fly it. He never took the age of the loooong fan belts operating the tail rotor into account, or the fact that once he got airborne, (with no license or training btw) he would immediately be picked up on radar from not one, but TWO military aircraft bases and one international airport. Eric is one unique individual.

Had know idea this existed. Definitely will give it a listen. Amazon has a bunch of his solo work but not this one. Will find a way.

It's definitely worth tracking down. Great album. If it helps, that's his first solo LP, from '95.
