The Dells

1993 Chess/CRC CHC-9103
__________

My CD/LP/TAPE Collection

Little Richard
Get Down With It: The Okeh Sessions
Sony/Epic/ Legacy Recordings

Liner notes say this was recorded in 1966 and 1967. While that sounds like it was a little past his heyday, this is some great stuff.

Little Willie John
Fever Best of Little Willie John
King (Rhino re-issue)

LWJ had a successful run in the late 50's doing some original stuff and covers. Convicted of manslaughter after a fatal stabbing after a show, he died in prison in 1968.

Good Evening Cafe....

What's Cookin' Tonight???

Before I spin anything tonight, I would like to have a moment so silence in honor of two people of whom we lost over the last week or so.

(01). Chuck Berry (Pioneer and Inventor of Rock-N-Roll, Legend of Rock-N-Roll, and Rock-N-Roll Hall Of Fame Inductee)

(02). Joni Sledge (Sister Sledge)

Hey Charles,

I did know about the passing of Chuck Berry, didn't know Joni Sledge passed! Was Joni the oldest sister?

Nope.....

Debbie Sledge was the oldest (Born 1954), Joni was the second oldest (Born 1956 - Died 2017), Kim was the third one (Born 1957), and Kathy was the baby (Born 1959).
