I've updated the Sansui Serial Number Database. It had not been updated since January 2009. I've compiled all the serial numbers posted in the database update thread.

The updated Sansui Serial Number list is now resides in the Digital Docs forum. You can get to it directly by clicking on this link: Sansui Serial Number Data. When clicking on this link, the pdf file will appear in your browser's download folder. You may need click on the browser's download icon to see it.

The database is extremely useful to determine things like the time frame units were built and the approximate number of units built. The more serial numbers collected, the better the data.

Please post your serial numbers to the 2017 database update thread located here.

When posting serial numbers please use this format: Serial Number, Model, AK handle. Like this: AU-919,220031540,LBPete. This format lets me cut and paste a list with all the data that can be uploaded into MS Access. Otherwise I have to reformat the data into this format. The commas are very important. They tell access to skip to the next field.

Lastly, please double check your serial numbers after you post them. There are a lot of decoding errors because the serial number don't follow the correct date format or the number of digits is wrong. Most equipment is 9 digits except speakers and some other oddball stuff. The 4 and 5 digits must equal a month designation.

You're welcome to add my beautiful AU-6500
813090026 26th unit from line 81, Sep 1973

Well done Pete! I had forgotten about this resource, and will endeavor to uncover my receivers and check them against your updated list.

Thanks - - -

I sent you a PM with a list of the serial numbers that have your username tagged to them. No need to post any of those. The serial numbers for you G-33000 look like they are missing a digit. Can you check them?

Thanks,
- Pete

Skippy must be the New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia distributor for Sansui. Or he's starting a Museum!

According to the PDF in post #1 there are a few of my S/Nos missing - I'll post up the missing numbers in the Database Update thread.

John, I'll send you a PM with a list of the equipment that has your name tagged to it. FYI, the program is set up to reject duplicate serial numbers so when in doubt, post.

There are lots of ways to slice and dice the serial number data. When I have time I'm going to look at what equipment was built on each production line over time. It can be arranged sequentially to see what models are built simultaneously on the same line. That will help us get closer to build quantities for each model.

Pete; I've got about 18 serials with names that I did for 1000A owners database back in 2009-2010. Do you want me to post them or PM them to you. Might be a couple of dup's .

Larry

This is great. Thanks Pete.

I'll have to post my AU-X711 SN. I may have a few more that were never added as well.
