Post them here, one item to a line as many lines at necessary. Be sure to put commas between each bit of information like this: Serial number, model, username

Duplicate serial numbers are not an issue, the program will reject them. So when in doubt, post.

Here it goes; 1965 thru 1969 The RD2767(3rd listing) is actually his serial. It's an early 65 with single pot, Dual Round voltage selector, early tuner, chassis stamped 6ba6 in pace ofthe 6au6's.

Many of these serial number have only 8 digits. Did a leading zero get dropped? They all have a zero or a 1 in the date position even though you tagged them as '65 to '69. It looks like the whole serial number is shifted.

Not that I'm aware of. Mine is 16027920 and it's stamped right on the chassis. I was under the assumption on the 8 digit serial that the leading 1 is the line, next 3 are year and month, and last 4 are serial.

You have my 7000's serial, here is my SR-2050C 321071708. Unfortunately my SP-200 & SP-2500 serials have faded to the point that they can't be seen.

Thanks for that. I had assumed that Sansui had always used the 9 digit format. Early on they probably didn't consider they would need more that 10 production lines so the production line ID was a single digit.

I've uploaded this month's updated file on the first page of this thread. We now have 5976 serial numbers on file. Many of the Serial Numbers added recently are for Sansui models that have never been recorded before. That expands our knowledge of the Sansui Universe.

I'm also working on getting the Sansui Database page updated so the Serial Number report can be posted in it's rightful place.

A big Thanks to everyone that posted serial numbers this month. Keep them coming.

Hi Pete, I've been through the listing and can't find my AU-717 S/No 227110583 and my TU-505, S/No 834050350 (although this one may have been sent to you, or recorded incorrectly, as ending in ...0360).

All the others are there.

Yes please Pete - I don't know how the hell that happened, but I have just double checked them, serials in post #31 are correct.

It's easy to make a mistake. Anyplace you see an error listing in the production date field, the serial number is off. Usually the month code is greater than 12. There just is no month 47 for example. As I get deeper into this, there are a lot of serial numbers with more than 9 digits or 8 or fewer digits when there should be 9. I try to check the obvious mistakes when I first see the number. In your case, the numbers follow the serial number protocol so there's no way to tell that it's off.

I've revised the file posted yesterday. It's on the first post in this thread. The page width must have been too wide which caused a lot of blank pages. Today's report has serial numbers and corrections from yesterday.
