pick off point for adding digital output?

Just prior to the on-board DAC chipset--basically, directly from the laser feed, but it depends on what kind of digital out you want--you may need to add a USB or SPDIF chip to get you to the proper output configuration.

Yeah I don't think it's quite as simple as just picking a signal off and sending it to a RCA jack.

Wouldn't it be easier to just get a CDP with digital out? They ain't exactly hard to find.

I have several threads on swapping OPAMPs, DACs, adding DAC output and the like .
Mainly on a SONY CDP302.. Yes I got quite a few replies on one of them dont remember which tho.
Bottom line is I have decided not to attempt it.
Its a complex process which I do not want to get into just now.
I am just getting my feet wet on CD players and how to do things to improve thier performance.
Simple stuff 1st like ''rolling'' OPAMPS like they do with tubes.
they reside after all the D/A conversion is done and turned into linear audio just prior to the output.
The lowpass filter. Basically upgrading the OPAMPs used.
So it's strictly an audio exercise and no digital is affected. results can be quite good.
