I love the punk rock.
If i want to discharge, do I put any bulb on both lead before work on it?
I'm sure it's been covered before, but this may help you. https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Constructing+a+Capacitor+Discharge+Tool/2177
If i want to discharge, do I put any bulb on both lead before work on it?
Have not visited in a while and noticed that there is a current TX-9800 recap list that I would like to add to the main listing on post 3, but I can no longer edit the post??? Any suggestions on how to do it now?
EDIT: It seems I can only edit this last post of mine on this thread????? The option to edit the earlier main post is gone for me now???
Here's the TX9800 post that I want to add:

Post from another thread with no replies, looking for opinions:
I've recapped my SX-650 but didn't touch the tuner board in fear of screwing up the tuning. After some protection circuit issues, outlined elsewhere, she's running beautifully but there's some significant static on stations with signal around 3-4 or lower on the signal meter. Interestingly switching to MONO clears any static right out of the play.
I looked through some threads and came up with this list by savaging from this thread: www.audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?threads/sx-650-re-cap-parts-list-how-does-it-look.354642/
I'm not sure I found a definitive answer from markthefixer on the the bolded caps below. Note, I like the plan on a couple of the questionable ones to try to replace, then if tuning is effected, put the old one back in.
Here is the list of parts I'm planning (considering) to replace next month:
* Note I haven't checked for availability of any parts, pay more attention than anything to the reference designators.
Thoughts on the below list?

I'll put in a request for a thread on recapping Pioneer SD-1000/SD-1100's.
I think they've held up really well. I don't think the O-scopes were ever really "bright", but I suspect that a recap would help these pieces of gear more than it would the average Tape Deck or Receiver, it they were responsibly owned during their previous lives. At least that's been my experience. If I've missed a link, please post, thanks....
There's a capacitor list in the SM. That deck is Electrolytic Valhalla. Everybody has different priorities, but I'd wait until a symptom presented itself. A case can be made for preemptive recapping of the audio pathways, but I own four all realigned (two near NOS, re-belted, in boxes with original documentation) and there's just not that much to be unhappy about. In a side by side, the 1250's dynamics are about the same as the Dragon's dynamics IF you zero out the differences that Dolby B and the NAAC can be responsible for. The format's noise floor can only be shoved around so much. My machines are pretty quiet. The "slam" has more to do with alignment....ymmv.....I need list for the CT-F1250
