Canned Heat - Kings of the Boogie
1985 - Platinum - PLP 20
West Germany Pressing
Was it you that posted this one before, or somebody else?
Either way, a Hollywood Fats sighting has happened, and needs to be pointed out.

Speaking of which, I planned on spinning his band's(sans Fats) Soul Sanctuary album today.

Yesterday had some Studebaker John on the stereo; Tremolux and Born To Win.

Jimmy Dawkins- All For Business
Delmark Records
Another great Delmark recording with Otis Rush and Big Voice Odom

Otis Rush- Right Place, Wrong Time
Hightone Records

Jimmy Dawkins- Fast Fingers
Delmark Records

Earl Hooker - Two Bugs and a Roach
Arhoolie Records
Jimi called him "the master of the wah-wah pedal " and disciple of Robert Nighthawk

Robert Nighthawk- Bricks in my Pillow
Delmark Records

John Lee Hooker - The Legendary Modern Recordings 1948-1954
Flair/Virgin Records
And cousin of Earl Hooker

I just picked up this CD at a local thrift. ($1)
I am spinning it now, I'm at the second to last song.

Sadly they didn't do much, if anything to remaster the songs.
Some have way to much noise.
Some sound like they just recorded off an old LP.
Modern software can easily fix this.
Even back in 1993 when this was released.
Then again maybe it is the best they could do, some of these songs were recorded in the 20's and 30's.
The ones recorded in the 60's sound mighty fine.
I need to read the insert. Perhaps I will get some insight.

If you're talking about the stuff like Charley Patton on that disc, not much is going to improve the sound of his recordings. Besides being really old recordings, Paramount was notorious for cheaping out.

Otis Blue - Otis Redding
-B/-A, mono press.

Lots of super music getting posted on here.
I came across this one at PJ's, in Ann Arbor.
Like it.

I hope you can read the back jacket notes.
In case you can't, it's about Chuck and Bo getting together
and turning out these spontaneous Blues.

The Bo Diddley track, When the Saints Go Marching In "Bo Diddley", is pretty cool.
The whole album is fine.
Chess label.
How could I resist?
They each play a solo track.
And they play together twice for extended improvised sessions, like 10:30 and 14:00 minutes, all unrehearsed.
