What Vintage Speakers Would You Buy If Money Were No Object?

JBL 4350's. No idea where I'd put them at the moment though. A friend has a pair and he got them dirt cheap in mint condition.

I think if I could choose a 'vintage' set of speakers to try I'd like to try the Duntech Sovereign 2001 - actually I'd love to have this same set up with the Krell MDA500 as seen here...

I have the H/K 700 series stack if you want to get the full American Psycho theme going... it sounds pretty good actually :)

OK, you win... my H/K is feeding a pair of Rectilinears and the biggest EPIs I have (now, I used to have some big Genesis) are M100s.

Nice. I am currently running 500wpc Citation 16M monoblock amps on my Epi 1000M.

I STILL remember a summer afternoon about 1974 when I visited the local Springfield VA "Audio Specialists (AtlantisSound) store and heard the 1000's for the first time. They were running the original Phase Linear 700 with them. Lucky Man sounded superb. I also brought some pipe organ LP's and Harry Nilsson's Jump Into the Fire.

Must have been very impressive back in 1974. Very imposing speakers. There are very few speakers that I'd replace my M1000 for to be truthful. Perhaps the Duntech....perhaps not considering a former dealer of Duntech/Dunlavy in Toronto said the Epi were actually better. I don't know how this is actually possible however that was her impression. I'd love to audition a pair of Duntech one day...

Everyone's ears are different, my guess is that everyone who is intimately familiar with both would not come to the same conclusion. Head down the Pittsburgh area, happy to have you hear my Dunlavys, maybe get my friend to show off his 'Black Knights'.

I'd love a pair of the Paradigm Persona 9Hs by the way. I meant no criticism of them at all. They would be amazing speakers.
