I need some help. I picked up a Luxman L-80V amp from the original owner. He said he thought it might have a blown fuse when he connected speakers wrong. When I opened it up found 2 of the fuses were blown.
I am not a tech but I could replace a fuse. He also said that he blew some fuses before and had someone replace them. Thus I'm not sure if it has the proper fuses installed or not.
I don't see the fuse size in the owners or service manual. It is hard to see the numbers on the blown fuses I pulled out. One has 125V 5 and another has 5A250V. another fuse I pulled out I can't make out the markings but it was a curly wire fuse.
On the fuse holder it has 6 fuses 3 of each type.
The fuse holder board is marked with 0.2AT (with curly wire fuses) and 5AT (with straight wire fuses).
Could someone advice me on the proper fuses to buy and install?
If it blows the fuses again I will have it serviced but it is worth a try just replacing fuses first. I am confused why it would need a 250 volt fuse...
