What McIntosh Gear Are You Using?

Just now setting up my first full Mac system. C28, MC2205 and an MR-78. I went through them myself with a lot of help from posts by others here. The amp gets here this week. Wish me luck.....I hope I don't hear the sound of broken glass........

Here my new just at home made and uploaded / added pictures from the for this purpose taken out of a Ikea bag at home as you all can see; Of my late nov 2017 aquired from a local Vancouver BC Canada based pawnshop: McIntosh 2100 solidstate integrated stereo/mono (power) amplifier for which I payed $820,- CAD ex local BC salestax.

Refurbished at McIntosh Corp New york in 2016 on behalve of the former owner. And i dont regret a cent i payed for it; nor will ever sell or part with it ;-).

Lovely! Listening to Vandersteens myself at the moment, driven by an MC502 and MX117. Best the living room has ever sounded.
Of all the gear I've owned, the Mac and Vandys (to my ears) is the best combination I have heard. Looking forward to hearing them with Mac separates one day.

I can recommend the combination. In the room where they currently reside, the Vandy 2Ce speakers get plenty of clean power from the MC502 (PowerGuard never flashes at the volumes we can use). I've also paired these speakers with many other amps including an MC2100 and an MC2150. To my ears, the Macs never disappoint.

For now I've found that 1980s McIntosh components hit my personal price/performance sweet spot.

Just added this C28. Integrating it into the system. I like the aural change but channel separation is suffering. Phono jacks need cleaning. I suspect some trouble shooting is in my future.

This is what I call Vintage!
It is a pleasure to look at your Equipment. And if it sounds like it looks you should be in "vinyl-heaven".:beatnik:
Thank you for sharing :beerchug:

Well, 40 years later, after selling my old pair of MC-60 mono blocks, preamp, tuner and etc. I decided to get back into it again. I finally became tired of the awful sounding computer system mp3 style audio and a found a mint MAC-1700 receiver and a pair of ML-1C speakers. Then shortly after I found the matching and required MQ-101 environmental equalizer still factory sealed in the box.

My current McIntosh based rig, A C46 preamp feeding an MC452. The MC452 just recently replaced an MC2205, I'm still amazed with the MC452, it's incredible. This amp will be a permanent fixture for a long time. The MCD7005 CD player rounds out my McIntosh lineup.

Sweet! I looked long and hard at the C46 myself. Is that Technics RTR a 2 or 4 track machine?

I've really enjoyed the C46. I don't know if any of the newer models fully support a traditional tape loop, with monitor functions, so I'm quite happy to keep running the C46.

This reel machine is the 1500, 2-track, but I have a number of decks, both 2 track, 4 track and 4 channel formats, that I rotate in/out occasionally.
