Actually its the "Pathfinder" from American Flyer. Its a 4-8-4 with semi-vanderbilt tender. I had the same set for Christmas 1959. Sold off everything in 1984 so my dad could build an HO empire. On my 10th birthday I came home from school and found an American Flyer train set up on the floor of my room. It was my birthday present from my parents. That set is long gone but I have been able to find the engine and cars ( EBay ) that made up that set and have it displayed in my music room. The engine is the 336 ( 4-8-2) and I believe it was the biggest engine American Flyer made.

It reminds me of the pull along train set my aunt sent me one Christmas and although it was just a pull along train, it ran so smoothly. It had blood and custard coaches (strange name for the colours!). The whole thing was beautifully made and detailed.
My nieces boyfriend is THE go to tile guy around here, flippin artistry in motion, I'll ask him if he knows any products to change the shade, I'd imagine there's a dye or something nowdays.Already thought of that. It’s uneven even within each slab plus that would make it higher than the door entrance. It was going to cost too much in labour to have it changed and the kitchen was expensive enough. When the floor is wet it looks good. Darker and the colours are nicer. I tried colour enhancing sealer on a spare tile but after five coats, it doesn’t look any better. I’m going to try waxing it. If all else fails, I think I’ll get floor paint and paint it.
