Don't have a need for concealed carry here except for the large population of brown bears we have during the spring summer fall months. For when I go for hikes and walks I carry this little beast. I handload for it with 454 Casull brass with 355 grain bullets and around 45-50kpsi which is downright brutal to shoot! But this gun isn't really meant to be a fun gun for shooting that much but is meant to stop a 1000+ lb bear at close range if you are having a really bad day. I have other guns that are more fun to target practice, but I do practice with this gun as well, a little differently. Accuracy at less than 20 feet isn't as critical but speed is when it comes to a bear in your personal space and so my practice consists of trying to get all 6 rounds in a paper plate at 25 feet as fast as I can firing it double action. I generally have a slightly reduced load for this exercise as the full house 454 loads are too hard on the joints!
It is a nice easy to carry gun for these parts where you really need stopping power but due to its short 2.5" barrel it has a very short sight radius so isn't easy to hit with out past 50 feet or so.
This gun can really put on a pyrotechnics light show too, especially with H110. Also since I live within 40 miles of Canada, I always make damn sure this thing isn't sitting in the car, boat or camper when I am visiting over the boarder. Taking this into Canada would likely be a one way trip as it is completely illegal to have a gun with a 2.5" barrel there.
Jeff's eyes look to be closed! Ha!
