I get lost in ALL the carts out there. I am using an ancient Empire that came with my table with a replacement stylus. I have often wondered if I am missing something, but do not have a clue as what to "step up" to or if I even need to.

My Yammy 1020 has that kind of phono switch.

They call it the "Grado Bump" and its famous and not to everyones liking.. Its why God invnted EQ's and parametric preamp controls.

I find the Grado a bit more "musical" than some others, especially compared to the Shure I use. The Grado makes jazz sound great. My Shure, on the other hand, does pack more oomph in the lower registers.

I have a Empire 2200....as well as the Grado Blue that I am currently using. Both are great sounding carts, but I think the Grado adds a little more depth to the vinyl.

I was with my wife at Walmart yesterday bought this on a whim. 7 bucks for three cd’s. I thought it was worth a shot. Ther is a lot of Brian Johnson as well as Bob Scott stuff on here also. But wholy cow does Joe Lynn Turner pull this off fantastic. Worth every bit of 7 bucks.

Mine was "puke" yellow..1964 Galaxie....bought it off my neighbor for $15. I was 14 and by the time I was 16 it was more than ready for the road!

Never had a Galaxy. At least, not till my phone. I did, however, have a 63 Fairlane Sport Coupe which I loved. I wouldn't mind having another one. And, yes, it was Forest Green.

I suspect you are right, although I think there will be a few new adherents, like yourself, who stick with it. I think the LP resurgence bubble is due to pop, which actually might be a good thing if it is associated with a drop in prices.

I can not speak for all. For me vinyl never stoped. A large part of what I listen to and post here I bought new.
Have kept it moved it and still use it. I have added to it with used vinyl through the years. Now it is nice to have a option when buying new releases on vinyl.
But if the vinyl bubble burst I would bet there are quite a few that will still move forward with it.

As far as price of new vinyl IMHO it has kept up the same pace as everything else. I was paying $5.49 in the 70's for a new release so now I pay 18 - 25 for the average record.

I for one will never get rid of my records. I never will put that much faith in downloading or streaming. Years ago I bought a ton of stuff on my now obsolete iPod Touch. Now I need my iPod to play all that music I paid for. Where as for my records tape or CD I can dig out and play anytime.
