My dream system
What makes it your dream system?
Is it the look of high end silver face components?

I'm only asking because I see you I have a C1/M2A and I've got the same but hooked up as a C2/M2A and a C1/M2. Spec wise they are pretty well unbeatable and sound sensational.

Cheers

It's the looks. Those big beautiful meters. I have never had the pleasure of hearing one.

My new Trio KA-9900 aka Kenwood KA-907 replacing temporary defect trio KA-9300 aka Kenwood model 600

Right, the look of TRIO KA-9300 is quite different of Kenwood model 600 as it was re-
badged from this one with some minor changes for their SUPREME RANGE for Europe & America....
But the contains are not much different, some better, some worse, for example Trio KA-9300 better toroidal transformers, but not all FET in pre/tone/filter section like by Kenwood model 600.

Such re-badge works i can name much
Kenwood KA-7300/Trio KA-7300
Kenwood KA-8100/Trio KA-7300D
Kenwood KA-9800/KA-8300/ Trio KA-7500
Kenwood KA-907/Trio KA-9900
Kenwood KA-801/Trio KA-8700
Kenwood KA-701/trio KA-8300 and on until early 80s

I have all these Trio models and always use the sm's of Kenwood rebadged models for my re-cap & repair works with almost successes with Trio models.

In addition the switch forms of Kenwood model 500/600/650 remember me old Trio KA-9006/7006.

Not vintage or spectacular looking, but solid and very useable: Kenwood KA-5020. Picked it up cheap because it was missing some knobs. Couldn't find the exact replacements, but did find two replacement knobs that'll do the job and don't look to horrible. It's been in use in one of my systems for months now and I really like it: reliable and with plenty of power.

Gort69 above. Wow! I take it that the first photo is one of the volume control wafers? Man those are laser trimmed resistors!! I always thought the stops on the volume controls were just there for feel. I had no idea those were switched pads. Wow again! I doubt there is anything built like that today. Holy crap!

Those 90's Kenwoods have a different sound than their more vintage counterparts, but they are much better than most people would ever give them credit for. Many of them might be the proverbial "BPC" tin can, but some of them can make some nice music.

My KR-9060
Owned since new, roughly 2 hours usage.
To be on the safe side I'm having it looked at just to make sure it's going to stay in Optimum working condition.
Electronics I would imagine a dry out after 40 years.

You've only played it for 2 hours in 40 years?
