There is a shitload of caps in these. And will end up with a hernia lifting one of these big boys.

Hello Fellow 3020 owners!!! Just curious...how many of you had your 3020 restored? Does it have the same risks as the 2020?

946FF47A-461F-49B8-A743-F8E5A4C7972F.jpeg Picked up a 3020 last week from an AK'er. I had to wait until today for a friend to stop by to help me move it downstairs to the audio grotto. I'm listening as I write this email, driving some Trenner & Friedl mini-monitors. Fully restored last year by a local technician. Sounding very nice!

Nice! Any restoration work done on it?

Edit: RDS, Thanks for your response below.

Not sure what the cr3020 owners count is at but you can 'plus one' it.

Per my signature I have one each of the 1020, 2020 and 3020.

Not sure serial number on the 3020 but I think I posted on it when I found it.

The CR-3020 owners count stands at 25 (see post #3).

Link to the restoration thread for my CR-3020. AK'er merrylander refurbished it in 2006.

Regarding electrolytic caps in the Yamaha CR-3020, I'll quote merrylander:

merrylander said:
...the 3020 seems to have used a lot more mylar caps than the other models in the CR-n20 series because there really were not that many electrolytics in the audio path...

I assume the serial numbers are sequential by build date? That would make my #2800, above, the newest example here. So far.
Anyone else still have the headphone jacks cover?
I know that's not a very flattering picture, sitting on the workbench. I will take some better pictures when I put her back in the living room.

Just need a little more light to showcase her...

Here are some photos of my 3020 that ReadyTech restored several years ago.
I'll try to find the SN when I have time

Sure wish I could find one of these for myself. They're more scarce than hens teeth lately.
