Yamaha m vs mx display?

I know on the mx1000 it uses a LCD with about seven bulbs as back lighting... But I'm reading the m series is led... Are there any bulbs used for the display?? I'm thinking maybe the middle graph is using three or so bulbs to light it up?

The M-70 & M-50 have 3x 14.5v light-bulbs in the middle of the display to backlight the scale. The level indicators are 20x LEDs per side. I believe that the later M-series are similar but can't confirm that from experience. Can't help with the MX.

Cheers,
James

M-45,60,65,80,and 85 uses 42-43 (depends on model) red LEDs and 3 incandescent 8v/150ma lamps. The M-80/85 has one extra LED.

For the M-80 and similar with the 3x 8V incandescents, I found 9V works fine too (and much easier to find globally).
