I'm pretty sure, after looking at the pics and reading the clarification on your scope arrangement, that co-witness is not something you can do with this configuration.

Get some see through scope mounts if you want to use the iron sights and the scope as well. You'll use each item independently of the other.

Well, its no longer a virgin.
#1 is behind us.

I got one,... and so did a car driving by. That carcass is out front on the street.
All I needed to do was to buy a faster car, not a shooting iron.

A small box showed up here recently and it contained a small upgrade for the Ruger MK IV .22 ... a nice Vortex Viper red dot holo sight and short picatinny rail.

I think I'll get the Volquartsen accurizing kit for this firearm. It only need a small bit of improvement here and there to be world class, IMHO.

Tomorrow morning a few rifles, handguns and ammo cans are headed up into the mountains to an authorized outdoor range for some practice. I think the 7.62x51 AR10 could use some range time the most.

I think the 5.56x45 AR 15 could use some practice as well:

I'll also give the M&P 15-22 a workout:

Those scope rail systems,...
Can you sight different scopes, and change them out without having to recalibrate?

Sarge, the spousal unit, asked if she could discharge the newly sighted plinker, last yesterday afternoon, when I was wrapping up the day. She sighted on a property stake at about 40', and hit it. She squealed in delight.

^^^^^^^ Tip-off mounts are designed to be interchangeable. Ar's, not my style. give me something I can pack around all day without whining.

Sometimes it holds it's zero, but having different optics you switch between, I wouldn't count on it. It depends on the quality of the mount mainly. They make quick detach mounts, some better than others. I pulled the scope off my ar10 and put it back on, it stayed zeroed. Other times, it's been off by a lot.

As dB happy said, sometimes they hold zero, sometimes not. In my experience, with a good quick disconnect mount and placing the optic on the rail at the same time, can help in keeping zero. But don't count on it and always check if you swap mounts and scopes back and forth on the firearm.

Figure I should contribute some porn. This is my AR10, it all started as a $79 blemished lower from PSA, and it became this beast. Figures, for my first AR build, I chose a 10, which isn't standardized like the AR15.

Wish you guys could be in my office right now with us....:D

Nice rifles up there !

Not artfully photographed, but a very good pistol.
Former Czechoslovakian Police CZ 75.
A very well used pistol from 1982, with a new 'race' hammer, an adjustable sight, and stock rubber grips.
All steel construction makes it quite heavy, which in turn makes it a very pleasant gun to shoot.
The ergonomics on it are great.
It just fits the hand.

The fancy hammer gives it a very smooth, crisp trigger, which is too light for non-range use.
But boy, is it accurate.
It's way better than I am.

I wish the hammer had the round ring of the stock part.

I shoot paper targets with it for fun. Bulls-eyes only.
