SX-850 Updating BOM

So I have been working (again) on the BOM to restore my SX-850. I first did this 2 years ago when I picked it up from an Estate sale, but other events got in my way, and the project was shelved.

Since then about 18 parts have gone obsolete. I have read countless posts from others who have done this exact same thing, and found about half of the updated parts.

I am going to post my fairly complete list of parts, including all the extras (Thermal Paste, insulators, Trimmers) Even including transistors not normally changed. This is in the hopes of getting a complete "In Stock" BOM.

I realize some of these transistors aren't part of other lists, but nearly every rebuild post I've read involves locating some Transistor that is noisy or not functional. At 15-30 cents per transistor, I'm just going to get them all and save myself the hassle.

Some of the transistors have alternates on Mouser, but I've read that they are not always the best choice.

I usually enjoy working with tubes, and I only plan on restoring 3 Solid State receivers, and I only want to do them once. One for me, one for my Dad, and one for my Son.

Thanks for the help, and when I am done, pending everyone's approval, I will submit it to replace the older BOM from 2011.

Looks pretty good, a couple changes however. I have underscored the changes above. The 220uF UPW caps I changed as the replacements had 3.5mm lead spacing, these have 5mm, much better for fitting into the board.
 
Thank you Matt, I appreciate the help. I'm sure others will appreciate it as well. It seems many of the questions concerning restoring these receivers revolves around the old BOM.
Correcting and improving the list may cut down on some of the confusion. (at least on my part!)

I'm getting ready to start a refurb on an 850 and am using this BOM as a starting place. I did find a discrepancy on the Tone Amp Board (AWG-039) regarding C13 & C14. My service manual shows these to be 10uF 25v, not the 2.2uF 25v described above. I don't have the unit opened up right now so can't see what's actually installed.
 
Also, the Switch Assembly Board (AWS-094) listed above could either be (AWS-099), or named Mic Jack Assembly (AWX-094). In either case, my service manual has no electrolytic caps on either of them.
 
Is this referring to C3 and C4 of the Power Amp (AWH-059)? Original part is rated at 25v and the replacement in the BOM above is 100v.

The Wima is $.71 each and the Nichicon is $.34 each. What about the Nichicon "audio grade" 1uF 50v (647-UFG1H010MDM1TD), at $.25. Would that be a viable choice?
Yes, power amp. Film caps are much better than electrolytic caps, even the fine gold caps. As for price, I always buy in 100 or more (which gives you a price advantage and I have a lot of gear also), so sorry I didn't consider price.
 
There aren't that many caps of this size that the higher price of the film caps is a concern to me, so I can make it routine to use 1uF film here. That said I still have some 1uF 50v Nichicons on hand. Is the guidance to use film as "low noise" replacements, otherwise electrolytics are fine?

On the tone amp board, C13 and C14 are 2.2 uf. The parts list in the service manual is wrong. But, if you look at the PC board in the service manual, they are shown as 2.2uf. In fact, C13, C14, C15, C16, C23 and C24 are all 2.2uf.

The Switch Assembly Board AWS-094, the Switch Assembly (Speaker Switches) AWS-099 and the Microphone Jack Assembly AWX-094 are three seperate boards. They are NOT the same. The Switch Assembly Board AWS-094 definitely has a 220uf @ 6 volts capacitor on it. The list above is referring to the AWS-094, AM, FM, Phono1, Phono2/Mic and AUX

I did this just now, and all of the items are still available and still in stock for immediate shipment.
Not that you may want to make changes, but this list served me very well, and 2 years later I am very satisfied with the performance of my SX-850.

I made a record of the entire project, along with the testing steps I took along the way.
Many people wiser than I chipped in, and gave advice and experience as I went.

I would recommend you do something similar, copy my BOM and put it in your post, along with details about your level of skill, a description of the unit being updated (original vs modified)

Then simply ask for advice.

Post updates and progress along the way.
I found that the Gurus of the Pioneer page will bend over backward to help you.

I simply couldn't have done it without their help.
