DIY speakers you've drooled over but have yet to build!

A strange thread (not for me) for people who have lusted after one or more DIY speaker kits from Parts Express, etc., but have not ever built one, let alone ordered it!
Is it fear? (What if, after all that work, they don't sound good?)
Laziness? (You know, the more I think about it, that's an awful lot of work.)
Intimidation? (I'll f@ck it up somehow, I just know it.)
Indecision? (Is this the one to go with? Gods, there are so many and this site says such and such and that site says so and so.)

Okay, I'll go first:
1) X-LS Encore speaker kit. http://gr-research.com/x-lsencorekit.aspx
I have contemplated these for something like four years and have yet to pull the trigger. Maybe it's because I'm a carpenter and am having trouble doing work work in my spare time. Or, I cannot decide between the regular X-LS kit and the X-SLS kit.

2) Classix II MT bookshelf speaker kit. https://www.parts-express.com/class...-with-baffle-only--300-7110#lblProductDetails
How could you go wrong with this one?! 35-20,000Hz, an easy 8 Ohm load, makes all music sound good--Not that expensive, either. But there's that X-LS Encore kit! Hmm.

3) (Your DIY speaker kit that has never been fulfilled here)

I don't drool..Unless a case of Bitburger Pils is envolved. Then all bets off.

The speakers I want to build are the ones from the past. Getting drivers is the biggest hurdle (expensive or rare or both)

Onken cabinets.

This was a model designed by Solen, who are actually located here in Quebec.I have always wanted to build a pair,as they were absolutely astonishing, but I waited too long; Dynaudio long ago ceased to supply drivers to anyone but OEMs.

Comes down to the work involved and being stuck with something that has zero resale value of you don't like the results.

Not worth it unless you know the outcome before you even begin. Hard to know the outcome of a diy kit.

This is what has kept me away from those kits.
