AU-4400 Coupling Capacitor recommendations.

Hey everyone, I'm currently ordering parts to recap my trusty silver faced Sansui AU-4400.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of info out there for this little amp so I thought I'd make a start.
I already have most of the parts as I try and fill up my shopping cart to qualify for free shipping as well as spares from previous recaps.
So far I have most as Nichicon Gold Tune, Panasonic FC or Wima film caps.

I'll also be replacing the two 2SA726W transistors with KSA992FBU (BCE to ECB, transistor flipped) and the Bias trim pots with Bourns 1Kohms 10% 0.5Watts Square 3386P-1-102LF Trimmer Resistors.
I read somewhere it was recommended to upgrade the large 2200uf 63v filter cap with a 4700uf 63v.

Question:
Does anyone have any recommendations on what to replace the two large 1500uf 50v coupling capacitors with? I'm not sure whether a like for like replacement or upgrade is the best way to go.

Below is a list of the capacitors in the amp in case anyone else needs it.

If mine, I would use
C607 4700uf 63v
C19/20 2200 50V

Fat and short Snap in caps. what diameter are those caps?

2200uf 63v is 3.5cm in diameter
1500uf 50v is 2.5cm in diameter

Thanks, good to know as I have already purchased a Nichicon Gold 4700uf 63v, it is 2.2cm in diameter.

No clamps are present as the capacitors have extra mounting pins.

The lead spacing on the coupling caps is 1.5cm, 2.4cm for the filter cap, the replacement I bought is only 1cm unfortunately, I didn't think about that before purchasing it.

It's a lovely little amp, it was my first amplifier, warm sounding but not too warm, very capable at 20wpc although with my modern bookshelf speakers with a recommended rating of 85wpc it does feel like it struggles when going loud compared to my AU-719. Also the level of detail it can resolve isn't at the level of the AU-719. Still it's beautiful and I think I can say it's the highest end silver Sansui integrated stereo amp. (excluding those made in the 90's haha, other than the Au-2200 and a quad amp I can't think of any other silver Sansui's)
It's funny though because it has aged very well for a stock amp, no background noise, hiss or anything. I think it's due to fact it doesn't have many parts to go out of spec compared to a more complex amplifier.
It gets used daily with the TV in the living room, never skips a beat either, it's reliability is unmatched so far.

After looking it seems all the lead spacing options seem to be 1cm, the gold cap I had looked at doesn't list lead spacing either. https://au.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Nichicon/UKA1H222MHD?qs=sGAEpiMZZMukHu%2bjC5l7YTkdwddWzRSv6QDggINC1Dg=
those UKA are 1.6cm diameter.

Any of this ones will do the job and will fit nicely. on C19/20

Great thanks again in that case I'll go with these instead now. https://au.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Nichicon/LKG1H222MESZAK?qs=sGAEpiMZZMtZ1n0r9vR22d%2blFeYd%2bH4EFZH3DM2JOw0=

Also a bit unrelated but now I'm in a weird situation where my Mouser shopping cart is just over $60 so really if I can find $25 worth of things to add to my basket I'll qualify for free shipping and actually save some money. Is there anything at all that you recommend I should get? Maybe a transistor tester or something useful? I've added those Zener Diodes that you recommended a while back for my AU-719. I might just need to stock up on solder.
Edit: Any use in replacing the transistors on F2546 in my 8080?

mmm
Maybe replacing Mylars on F2547 0.1uf 50v... you could use C0G.
On F-2546 you can upgrade ZD01 with 13v zener
TR01,TR03 with KSC2690
TR-02 with MJE15032

Those are I what I used on my 9090 (basket case)

Thanks again, I'll order a few TDK C0G MLCC 0.10uF 50V caps for F2547 as well as the two on F2436, there seems to be a lot more green mylar capacitors in the amplifier though.

(I checked and the 5mm lead spacing equivalent is out of stock)

MUR1620CTRG (Can't seem to find any on Mouser)

Any specific recommendations for ZD01 on F-2546? I'm seeing a lot of results and am not sure which is the best option.

Thanks for that and sorry I derailed my own thread. I'll place the order now and probably have it done by the weekend.

Hi John, I was referring to ZD01, F-2546, 8080
Anyway, or you can get some KSC1845.ksa992.... those things are always handy
I bought a 200 pack of 1845's last time so I think I'll be passing them down to my grandchildren one day haha.

Hi,

Coming in a bit late here,

this would be a pin compatible (4 terminal) replacement for the original 2200 uf 63v filter cap

https://au.rs-online.com/web/p/aluminium-capacitors/0105492/

or, for a 4700uf 63V, this would also be pin compatible

https://au.rs-online.com/web/p/aluminium-capacitors/0107864/

these are great caps, have used them in the past.

Cheers

John
Thanks John that would have been a good option but unfortunately I already put through the order so I'll see how they go.
Also I think there is a glitch on the site because it says one cap is $10,277.12 haha.
