Kevzep, Do you recommend the "shield" after using the "fader" on the switches?
Thanks, Bob
I haven't been using the shield with the fader lube, as I understand the faderlube has lubricating properties.....and leaves that lube residue behind which protects as well, a bit like the shield does.
DN5 is actually very aggressive, so does a good job.....but in doing as as we discussed leaves it open for new oxidation to begin..

1250 is now at home with the family.... she sounds as good as she looks. Thanks for Matt SD & Mark the Fixer for bones to my rebuild. I did change to WIMA Films & UKA 105c audio caps for the signal path. My BOM list is in XLS in early post. Very pleased with the result.

SX-50 Series = Badass.

Now time to line-out the next rebuild. Thanks for following.

Excellent!! Congrats on a great score on the super nice 1250. I agree, SX-50 series = Badass. I am working on two of my own 1250s now. One has been recapped, and the other is virgin. This has been a really nice, clean, straight forward thread. I learn something from every one of these threads. I like the way you do things. Great pics of parts replaced too. Thanks for sharing.

Your output transistor rebuild is the first one I've seen in some time that didn't over-do the thermal paste on the transistors. Great job.
Someone posted less is more somewhere... I guess that kinda stuck. 1250 is a very special unit... I can’t say enough good things about how she responded to the rebuild.

850 is a flat ass kicker... best 65 WPC. 750 blew me away after rebuild = wow. My rebuilt 1250 is an experience like the “Millennium Force” at Cedar Point. If you have riden, you know it’s hard to describe - sensory overload that leaves you smiling.

The 1250 is a fantastic set to rebuild. Pretty easy access makes for a fun restore.
I finished a Mouser order for the works (Full Monty) on a SX-1050. $210.00. There are quite a few components. I would like to tryout the "KA" series but placed the order already. Maybe the next rebuild.

I really am pleased... along with WIMA films. I like 2.2 bypass caps on the mains.

I had talked with Matt before he did my 1250 and 1280 about adding bypass caps on the filter caps. He was not in favor at that time. SN can you post your reason for adding them to your project? Also can you express to us the sonic difference it creates?
