Post a Picture of your Tape Deck - Decks

Pulled this out of mothballs recently to see if it still works. It does, thanks to not having any belts to wear out and being stored in a dry, cool area for the last 21 years.

Denon DR-M3 3 heads, direct drive

Bought it new back in the 80s and thankfully didn’t throw it out when I got away from music in the 90s.

My father used to have the KD-V6, which is essentially the same deck. I loved that deck. One day, I'll probably buy one. LOL

My Pioneer CS-S88R in its permanent home, atop a Sony CDR deck and a Denon receiver. Looking and sounding good.
(Everything looked clean until I took a flash picture which makes every fingerprint and dust spot look as big as Montana!)

I'm starting to inventory my collection, so I thought I'd toss a few pics up. These are rough pics, just taken so I can add them to my file. There's a Tandberg 1, a Panasonic cassette changer, Crown reel to reel, Akai CR-80T 8-track/tuner combo, Revere cartridge deck, Audiotronics reel to reel, Ekotape reel to reel, Magnecorder reel to reel and Akai Terecorder reel to reel. As I get these cleaned up, I'll have to get rid of almost everything, as my wife and daughter have promised a dumpster if I don't before I die.

Picked up a Marantz SD-8000 (bottom left in right picture) a few years ago. Overall, I like the unit, but in last couple years it hasn't been used much as I've found myself going back to vinyl.

Nakamichi made some cool looking decks. The handles on the 600 make it look like rack mountable. The slanted face is reminiscent of pro studio gear. And all those controls!

Thanks! They had a really unique aesthetic. I love the angle it sits at. It’s very ergonomic to use. They could also be mounted vertically like this (not my pic). Nakamichi had a line of components with this design. When put together, it formed the “Nakamichi System One”.
