Some of the Best Female Guitarist on video, wow! Is an understatement!!

Now we have some more of the best female geetarists who have ever lived and performed.

I stumbled across this group with a young lady that handles the guitar pretty well. I'd like to see her perform something that had more of her talents on display. Poor quality, but you get the drift.

Can't see any of the video links, but IMO María del Rosario Mercedes Pilar Martínez Molina Baeza "Charo" is the best female guitarist ever.

On a side note: check out Carol Kaye, bassist for the Wrecking Crew session musicians. They don’t come much better.

Charo, definitely.

Mary Ford, went lick for lick with Les Paul.

Lita Ford, Nancy Wilson, Orianthi, Rosetta Tharpe, Maybelle Carter, Joan Jett, and Bonnie Raitt, all great in their own right.

Bonnie Raitt is the only woman honored by Fender with their own Limited Edition and Custom Shop Limited Edition guitar models.

I'm sure there are more, but these are the ones I'm familiar with.

The queen of classical/rock crossover ... with an extended solo intro.

I forgot Tal Wilkenfeld...

I've only heard her play bass, but I believe she started as a "conventional" guitarist.

Very well, but shredding isn't everything. here's one of the best female geetarists ever to have lived:

I have been playing the guitar for 45 years, I have my own style, Jimmy Page, Ritchie Blackmore, Mick Ralphs, Jeff Beck, David Gilmour, Paul Kossoff are my main influences, I am not shredder, I do not listen to a lot of shredding at all.
However, I recognise the intense physical and mental aspect of playing like that, the co-ordination, muscle memory, the hours of practice, and combined with natural ability to play like that is extraordinary.
I have met Nita Strauss, she is such a honey and extremely passionate about playing music, she is a real show person and when she's on stage, you can see how much she loves what she does.....and that is what its all about.
You can say this about any of the Axe wielding women mentioned in this thread, I never diss another musician or their style as music is fuelled by passion and I feel its disrespectful from a human perspective.
I feel it is my obligation as a musician to appreciate what other musicians do, no matter what the style....
The girl playing the Comfortably Numb solo, is hardly shredding though? I thought that was really good...

Great thread though, some real gems being unearthed here.....
