Pioneer 1000A rectifer diode question

Hi, I am working on this set, lots of recapping, and one question I have regards the caps across the voltage doubler diodes, I assume they are snubbers for the switching noise in the diodes, correct? If I am going to replace the diodes with UF diodes, would I still need to include those caps? Thanks

What unit is this? A typical voltage doubler MUST have caps to charge between half-cycles to float the potential up to the desired peaks.

I'm thinking he is referring to the bridged rectifier.

You are probably correct, which is the reason for the inquiry as to what the unit actually is.

It's a Sansui 1000A. And there are paralleled caps on the rectifier diodes to the 1st doubler cap. As avionic stated and I agree with him, put them on.
