Page break question

Is there any way to know when a page is going to become a second page? Is it by number of posts, or total space count, or is it random? I have a for sale page where I needed two posts because everything wouldn't fit in one. I want to update it with sold stuff removed and sales prices added, but I don't want for the first post to be at the bottom of page 1 and the second to be at the top of page 2. Is there any way to "force' a page break? Thanks.

Although I am curious if there is a way to force a page break. It would be really clean to have the updates at the top of the second page.

One post of the description, 19 posts of pictures would do it.

So it doesn't matter how long each post is?

Apparently not. I just looked at two different threads, one with just one-line posts, and a second thread with pictures. Each thread broke after 20 posts as ETLS mentioned. I also checked personal preferences and there is no setting to change the number of posts per page.
