Arnie Nudell personal speakers at RMAF 2018

It was a treat to go into the PS Audio room as they always bring something special. I’m glad I didn’t miss this room so I could share with the group. When I first walked in the room I must admit I did not recognize the design. One of the people that had knowledge about the speakers in the room told me these were Arnie’s personal listening speakers designed by him. These were on loan from his family. They look to have 8 tweeters from the Kappa .1 series, 2 mid bass speakers, a line array midrange, and 2 12 inch woofers. One tweeter is on the back and a midrbass as well. It was a hodge podge of former lines into one is what it looked like to me. Some parts looked unfinished. It did have external crossovers. The finish on the outside which looked great was a corian type material according to them. I took the best pics I could with my phone as lighting was poor. I also made a video but there are people talking in it which I couldn’t help lol. It was a very busy room. Enjoy.

I've seen them at PS Audio, but they weren't hooked up. What did they sound like?

Hi Paul they were pretty good. A bit on the bright side but could have been the music they were playing. I heard a lot of music that day so my ears were shot as it was towards the end of the day. I have a video posted at the end of the pictures.

Pretty similar to some Nudell Genesis prototype speakers, that sold earlier this year, on Audiogon. There were reported to be owned by PS Audio, at one point, too.

I've been following the development of these speakers from the time they were first announced. I originally planned to go to RMAF this year...but that all changed. I would have loved to have given them a listen. They look great and standout in their design.

Any word on a price point?

Reading the tea leaves:

AN1 $40,000
AN2 $20,000
AN3 $9,000

By this time next year, we should know.

Very interesting.....

.........I wasn't expecting them to top out at $40K, as I thought Paul was attempting to be somewhat price conscious.

Did you notice in your roaming any offerings from Artison Audio.

Man it sucks to have missed this.

What's up with all the junk around the rear bass driver? It looks like a bunch of caulk around the edge of the driver. :wtf:
