I saw the thread about who to go for LED lighting.

I was wondering if anyone has relamped their SX-980 with another color than White.

I was thinking about Blue possibly.

The Lighting is a little different as its almost like down lighting.

I was not sure how the meters would look with Blue.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Personally, I think the x50, x80 and x90 series receivers look a bit garish with anything other than warm white lamps. Just my prejudice though, I say get some different coloured lamps and choose the ones you like.

Garish? You decide:

Something in the 2800-3000°K range might be closer to original, but the original lamps in many of this era Pioneer used a slight aquamarine tint on the lamp envelope, creating a green/yellow hue. It's rare to find original,. pristine lamps, but I've encountered a few and they do have this tint. I've been able to emulate that on incandescent lamps with a judicious treatment with one of these:

You could also seek a replacement LED capable of operating at 7V in a color range like THIS or THIS.

The third photo is what was called "Super White" which is likely around 5500-6000°K color temperature. It looks quite blueish in person.
