I won two 1000’s last week. Saturday I received the first unit and the other today. Both fascia’s are broke or came loose, both sellers say they were fine but we don’t know. Got a few goodies with them. Came with a CD but the belt has disintegrated and I don’t know yet if it’s working.

Unit #1 has a straight, I’m assuming phono stage? Unit two has a curved one. This could be a problem what do you guys think?

I also got the cdc working, using the digital portion sounds great and this was free pretty much.

Looks clearly like the unit was dropped. You need to remove the rear panel and straighten it out. The curve in the phono pcb is because it is being bent from the pressure of the punched in rear panel. I would look that board over very carefully with a magnifying glass for cracks/breaks in the traces.

Cheers,
James

I got the guy to give me a 75 refund on unit 2 and I received a 50 off on unit 1. I think the bent corner was there when he listed it and is blaming it on the shipper. Either way both units work and sound great. Can’t test the phono stage though as of now. These guys on eBay who sell electronics just don’t have a clue, I gave a good feedback and am satisfied on all five yammy purchases I’ve made in two months.

Need to straighten out that metal chassis so the phono board lays flat. Also, check the solder connections for those RCA phono jacks.

Right now the control amp with the damaged phono is in use, I don’t think it was due to shipping, it was double boxed and packaged halfway decent, the fellow wouldn’t produce a single photo of the back, cause he knows it’ll show it was damaged before, hence he refunded a portion. Ive taken apart the other one to repair the one side of the fascia that’s broke or hopefully it just fell out of its socket, is there a thread on a fascia repair of these CX’s? Seen several of these with a broke fascia an Achilles heel is what they are.

I did say when it was damaged from shipping. Just saying the likely damage was most likely a result of shipping damage.

You refering to a flip-down panel?

I was able to get the set screw out and remove the front I can see the broken plastic part for the fold down front.

I'm pretty sure some of those are the same plastic hinges used on other models with a flip down cover.

I have an av rx-v1300 someone gave me and it’s folding mech is simpler. There is a pin you can’t see in the photo.
