The New Wave Of British Heavy Metal

Outstanding!

I was never much of a 45 collector but you guys have just killed it in this thread with boatloads of them.

I have a lot of 45s, always liked them, have barely posted any yet in this thread...i once took a picture of my entire 7" collection when I had it all out and was organising things. I'm thinking I have ~2000 of them, almost all metal and underground hard rock, some small amount of punk and indie stuff.

Iron Maiden easily, especially when you get into the worldwide pressings too, it is nuts.
Well, yes. I tend to forget all about Iron Maiden in terms of NWOBHM due to their massive success which kinda, sorta shot them out of the genre pretty quickly.
That said I still think of them as a NWOBHM band, but not in the perspective of everyone else.

I'm out. :rflmao:

 Good gawd, I'll bet there are a ton of gems among those ~2,000 7" discs.

Have family here all week, but managed to fit in this gem of the UK underground this morning.

Stormqueen recorded 4 demos between 1980 and 1983. The first 1980 demo is a total barnstormer, a real mystery how this band never got a deal back then, because the songs are excellent. Shown here are the 2 regular OPM records vinyl versions plus the test pressing and the HRR version that includes a reissue of their quite rare 7" (that unfortunately I do not have an original of :( ) and the cd that arrived in the mail yesterday.

More NWOBHM I've never heard of.
(I love this thread)

That song "The Battle Of Britain" is great.
How many songs and bands can we say define the NWOBHM movement? Add another with Storm Queen.

You've got me looking for more. Here's "Raising The Roof".

BTW the reason I bought the cd version is it is 4 euro wholesale with the order I just place, so ~$5.

Found a video on YouTube with all three Crucifixion singles in their proper running order. SQ wasn't bad in my opinion.
Buying them is kind of cost prohibitive. ($400+) Thanks to Audacity they're in my collection now

Isn't the Neat stuff available on comps you have already?

That's right, it would be. I've got so much stuff floating around on this pc right now that I don't remember what I have.
It's hell to get old.
I just have folders by countries, then alphabetically below that and just dump everything into them as it arrives(or as I listen)and let the PC sort it.Only way to sort of control/contain the mass of digital data.
