The problem with this whole thread is that the ribbon cables DO NOTcarry any audio......
When the cable dressing delaminates it does not even effect the switching DC voltages they carry.
The red and green wires that DO carry audio will become intermittent if the molex pin's solder joints crack.
Basically this is about cosmetics but not channels dropping out or sound issues......by all means spend the money to make it pretty but do not expect to solve any sound issues.
That takes a recap and molex pin soldering.
