Here's my daily driver... a Nakamichi CR-5 and also a CR-2A. And my favorite to use R2R... a Teac A-3300SR. Both in excellent working condition... when I got the Teac the seller estimated less than 100 hours on her!

My Sony Elcaset EL-7. I purchased it new in 1980 and just recently un-retired it after it was in storage for about 27 years. Recordings sound fantastic although blank Elcasets are a bit hard to find these days...

No, I cleaned and demagnetized the heads for good measure (probably didn't need it) and it was good to go. It was stored at room temperature for all those years so I'm guessing that helped. A local hi-fi dealer was closing them out for $100 (about 10% of the original price) back in 1980 ($80 for the EL-5). I'm sorry I didn't buy a few more... ;)

Wow thats great  I've read some good things about these Sony's

TEAC A-6010. Maybe not the best that TEAC built, but it was my best friends' late fathers. A little oil and some cleaning and it works nicely. The fan noise could drive you a little nuts, though. :D
