Beautiful cabinet...is it a refurbished original, or did you have it custom made for your deck?

My only deck I still currently use that was bought new in '97, a Nakamichi DR-1. Years ago I had quite a few Nakamichi decks: a DR-2, BX-1, BX-125, and the infamous DRAGON (foolishly sold)! Also owned a 3-head Yamaha KX 930 and a harmon/kardon CD 491, but they both developed transport failures and were also sold.

I still own my first serious cassette deck, bought new in '78...a Technics 616 just like the OP's deck on the first page of this thread. Unfortunately, it's been packed away for years with mechanical problems.

Photos of my two decks - the beautiful Marantz 5220 and the not as beautiful but always dependable Teac V-707RX Cassette Deck.

Always wanted to try a NAK but never got the opportunity. My brother had the model below the DRAGON. What a beautiful machine that was.

Here's my collection of R2R's.
Teac A2300S (My favorite).
Wollensak 1580 Stereo (great sound with those tube amps).
Wollensak 1515-4 Stereo (Not shown)
Sony TC-560 (Not Shown)

This is a Crown CX844 with Vari-speed,Lo-Z's,and sel-sync...this deck left the factory in 1969...loaded up with every option....price tag at the time was 5K which was a shit load of money back then....still is. I also have another CX844 and CX824 both have been recapped. I also have a Ampex 354 which is being rebuilt....remember it's only money....

Wow. Nice looking deck. Does it play well?

That's what I thought when I saw it at GW. I think it works pretty well, it is leagues above this other vintage Teac deck that I have.

I also have a Pioneer CT-F650 that needs belts. I hope to get it running sometime soon.
