PL-560 Recap Caps (see post #6)

I have a PL-560 and want to recap it...looked at the PL-630 restoration thread and several of the other recap projects (great work by Mark the Fixer and pustelniakr) but I'm bleeding out the eyeballs trying to figure out the replacement caps for these listed pioneer parts:

CEA101M6.3NP
CKDYF403Z50
CKDYB681K50
CQMA154J50
CQMA104J50

Need a little more tutorial on deciphering... TIA

Ok, heres what i remember from my recent pioneer recap voyage.

CEA are electrolytic radial caps
CEB are electrolytic axial caps
CEANL are low leakage electrolytic caps
CQSA are styrol caps
CKDYF, CKDYB, & CCDCH are all different ceramic disk types
CQPA & CQMA are different types of film caps i believe
CSZA & CSZAH are tantalum caps

I don't know what the other types you listed are. But i'm sure one of the real experts will be here soon to help.

The manual does you a huge disservice, being that cryptic.

Usually on the receivers I have done, they list the UF value and Voltage.

then there's a page of mine detailing the ELECTROLTYIC cap substitutions for the various types. 1uf plus and some 0.1uf to 1.0 uf caps....

I posted these rules of thumb not so long ago:

<snip>

Cap rules of thumb (nichicon)

I use upw, uhe for general caps including signal coupling in that order depending upon stock "cea"
I use ues, uep & uvp in that order for bipolar depending on stock
I use ukl for low leakage caps (in sensitive areas they reduce the noise floor)"ceanl", "cssa", "csza"
0.1uf to 2 uf I use stacked film where they fit: DFS and ECQ

solid aluminum and tantalum caps get stacked film when possible, or ukl's otherwise. "cssa" "csza"

c?B means it's an axial cap = one lead on each end
c?a = radial = both leads on one end

searching at mouser:

easy..... need a 100uf cap? search on: 100uf UPW

then find your voltage and if stocked / in stock and possibly a size choice. go UP in voltage if your voltage is not available.

voila....

sub uhe, ukl, dfs, ecq etc for upw for the different type...

here's my value guesses, you need to visually verify them before I take any stabs at finding a replacement. garbage in = garbage squared out...

Thank you...the information provided will be a great help...figured I'd have to visually verify them all but hoping for an easier answer to start. Great job again MTF! I'd already looked at your rules so thanks for the refresh.

OK, figured out which ones (Electrolytic) need replacement. List is below. Mouser number is after the description, then quantity required.

Thanks again to all who've helped.
