What TT's do you folks have

How's the tonearm on that table, and is that weight worth the money? Saw it on eBay.

Hi, tonearm is 8,6 S supplied with Ortofon OM 3E on cheaper mat black color model (mine came with OM5E) or Ortofon 2M Red MM-cartridge on all glossy colored. Headshell and armtube are from a single piece of aluminium. (here are all spec. http://www.project-audio.com/main.php?tech=rpm13&cat=turntables&lang=en )

Weight(s) worth every penny, as I explained in my thread, turntable base got additional 600gr. and much better stability, as the left and right sides are of the same weight (+- few grams) = 1800gr. or equal to the platter.
Marble sphere, glass holder, metal spikes and heavy base for motor cost me about $40USD. Motor is now stable as rock and fixed outside the base.
The cost of all is negligible but the pleasure is priceless

Posted this one before, but with the old cartridge. Here's my Goldmund Studietto with the old Kiseki Agaat Ruby (right) and the new Lyra Dorian cartridge.

And here, after a nerve wrecking operation, the Lyra installed and adjusted.

Boy, it's scary when youre dealing with this kind of expensive and vulnerable stuff...

so once upon a time i was really happy with my Technics 1200mk5 and my Technics sl-d3. That was before i read this thread, now im just pissed.

Bought this restored Dual 701 from Bill at fixmydual.com. I really love this table. So much so I sold off my MusicHall MMF5. The Dual sounded better in the lower bass, passed every track on my Shure test record, and is dead Silent!

hi, i was wondering how you can tell from the photo that the anti-skate is off? thanks, I am pretty uninformed about TT stuff. (but learning)

Nothing fancy....But it sounds good!

Just a VPI Scout that I bought in Barter Town. It has the 300 RPM motor mod and an aftermarket record weight/clamp.

I was able to buy a Benz Wood M2 from Audiogon and the combination has given new life to my entire record collection.

I am in the process of listening to all my records again.....some several times!

I am a happy Vinyl LP camper!

My listening area is a mess right now.
I am waiting for delivery of a Wireless connection for my ML Subwoofer and don't want to put everything back together until that gets here!

Not actually off as such, but set way off the correct value.
See the little disk shaped weight on the little arm protruding to the right?

Well it has a relationship with the VTF setting, and it is set there to deal with a VTF of about o.9g, the cart is a Ortofon 2M Red so I set VTF to 1.9g so this should be reflected in the Anti-skate setting, and that little weight should be further towards the extreme end of the little arm.
Maybe about three quarters towards the extreme end from the base in that shot.

VTF= Vertical Tracking Force

Ortofon 2M Red recommended Tracking Force = 1.6g to 2.0g

It is suggested by many that one should track towards the upper end of a given recommended range.

Edit: Nice Scout, South3rn :thmbsp:
