100-130 wpc receivers, Akai-Yamaha

well its 50 watts x4 per chanel for 200 watts but i use the 4 chanel for two speaker.
so it deliver the 100 watts per chanel.

Whats or watt not watts JVC

Not sure if my new to me JVC 4VR 5456X Qudraphonic counts? In two channel mode it is rated 100w/ch RMS @ 8ohms 20-20. My ears, speakers and neighbors can confirm this. This thing is silly loud.

I have a 4 channel JVC Nivico 5444U that is slightly simular with a black face and the 5 band front, five band rear EQ's and it has a round badge at the top right corner proclaiming 200 watts. It sure does put out in any mode or op!..I just wish I had the 4 channel toggle thingy that came with it.. those oughta be laying around evaareeewhere..eh?

Looking for a yamaha CR 2020 and 3020... anyone have one they're willing to part with?

I doubt it... but who knows. ;)

edit Feb '12: found both! within weeks of each other!!

Prices for both are heading nowhere but upwards the last couple years it would seem... (though not $1850 yet) not that I'll ever sell either one. ;)

crazy price. I mean, it's worth money... but that's insane. unless by perfect they meant COMPLETELY re-built...

MCS 3125 Is it a good receiver?

I am new to the vintage game. I was offered a MCS 3125 for $200.00 it looks great and from what I am told sounds awesome. Also a 6502 Turntable. Any information or opinions would be appreciated.
Thanks

I'd probably grab a local working one in good shape at $200. Its really a very good receiver.

I don't see a Yamaha AX900 on the list - IIRC that was 130wpc

I still have my old one in the basement somewhere. :stupid:

I noticed you listed the MCS 3325 on your list of 100 watt receivers, what year was the 3325 produced, what company manufactured it (for JCPenney), what was it's retail price when it was new, and where can I find images of it?

Might add the Kenwood Eleven III (Military issue) same as the Kenwood 10000 III.
From 1977-79, 120 to 125 watts depending on what you read.
Big beautiful looking & sounding receiver.

Harman kardon Citation

Specs for the Citation built in 1997-78:

Output power : 2x 85W (8 Ohm, 20Hz...20Khz)
2x 105W (DIN 45500, 8 Ohm)
2x 130W (DIN 45500, 4 Ohm)

Does it qualify?

I don't think such an animal even exists. The only MCS receiver over 100 wpc is the 3125 from 1979-to around 1981, and it was $900 when new.

Here is a 2x 100w Technics SA-T670 receiver (built by Fisher and Paykel in NZ)
