Albums where EVERY song is good

Los Lobos - Kiko
Luna - Rendezvous
Dave Brubeck Quartet - Time Out
Steely Dan - Gaucho
Etta James - Blues to the Bone

I think I can count these on one or two hands. Not some good tunes and some you can tolerate, I mean every track a keeper.
I have the opposite experience. It's hard for me to think of any albums that are not good from start to end. I generally don't bother with albums (either LP or CD) that aren't good all the way through. Life's too short and space too limited to deal with albums with only one or two good songs.

Judas Priest-British Steel
Iron Maiden-Iron Maiden
KISS-Rock and Roll Over
Journey-Frontiers
New England-New England
New England-Explorer Suite

Just to name a few.
Music is a matter of taste and everyone has thier own opnion's, likes and dislikes but in this short list are some of my favorites I can listen all the way through time & time again.

Rolling Stones - Let it Bleed
Zappa - Hot Rats
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Doors - Morrison Hotel
Warren Zevon - Exictable Boy
Allan Parsons - Tales of Mystery and Imagination
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Second Helping

And it goes on and on.

Really? Are you folks sure every song is a keeper. Let's put it this way: If Apple ruled the world as the sole outlet for music and you had to buy each song indivdually, would you buy all the tracks from each album? Or would you say, ah, I can live without this or that one.

Yes, but Apple doesn't have the sole outlet. I buy records for $1.00 or less each. If I like the record, I keep it. If I don't, I trade, sell it or donate it. The record choices I listed are subjective, but it is material I've been listening to for over 40 years and they still get regular rotation and I do like every track. IMO, many albums were written in the mid 60s-early 70s to be listened as a whole. Songs were arranged to flow into the next track. Now it's download one or two songs and ignore the filler.

Life's too short and space too limited to deal with albums with only one or two good songs.

But then you lose out on hearing those good songs!

Steve Vai - Passion and Warfare
Joe Satriani - The Extremist
Van Halen - all until Dave left (been a fan since the 1st album was released)
Boston - Boston
Beatles - Abbey Road, Revolver, Rubber Soul
Billy Joel - 52nd St, The Stranger
Blues Traveler - Four
C.S.N.Y. - Deja` Vu
David Lee Roth - A Little Ain't Enough, Eat 'Em and Smile, Skyscraper
Eric Clapton - 461 Ocean Blvd., Behind The Sun, Pilgrim
George Harrison - Cloud Nine
Living Colour - Vivid, Time's Up
Scorpions - Blackout

So many more to list, but this paints a stilted picture because I am actually also a fan of jazz guitar, piano, some old country, big band, and other genres.
If it sounds good to me, it sounds good, no matter what genre it is!
Best-ofs and Greatest Hits are my friend :)

Great thread!

One that I love is Van Morrison's Moondance.

Swinging the other way, I'll say Undertow by Tool and Chulahoma by the Black Keys.
