I just came across the SR 212 TT. very nice cond. Have the Sansui 771 receiver, Sansui LM330 speakers. Nice little system. Would a phono pre-amp improve anything? How about cartridge advice? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Randy

The Sansui 771 receiver has a phono in put, it should be able to handle just about any mm cartridge. :thmbsp:

That Sansui SC-37 cartridge is no slouch, I have one that I use in my SR-212 when I just want to sit back and listen to some blues or jazz.
If you shop around original styli turn up now and then or just fit it out with an Osawa stylus which come in conical, elliptical and even nude elliptical from Thakker in Germany at very reasonable prices.

I have had a SR 212 for a few years now. It’s a work horse and incredibly underrated. Time and time again I go back to it as part of a secondary set up and am never disappointed. I use an AT95 with it. Does the job and then some!
