High End Separates.....

You have some very nice equipment. :music:

As do you, love the look of the Marantz stack. The Marantz 250 power amp was a great one that stayed with me for quite a while. One of the few amps that could drive ElectroVoice Eliminators properly. I once drove them in the local theater using the 250 with splendid results, even when the producer/agent of the Vocal Quartet demanded I find something else to use. She complimented me in the best way possible after the show. :D

Jim

I love my Denon stack... High End? Well it was a mass manufacturer that did put out a lot of stuff, but it also put out a lot of pieces worthy of consideration.. There was a level better than what I have.. The Denon PRA2000z and matching amp... Lost an auction for that a few months ago. But to my ears this stuff is wonderful, incredibly clean, warm and detailed. Very good MC stage on the preamp

It's an Onix SP-3. It's quite nice. I dropped in some GE-5751 black plates in place of the Chinese 12AX7 when I got it.. The previous owner had switched out all the other tubes to NOS ones in place of the Chinese... Sounds really nice. I like it.

Great looking separates, nice rig!

1 piece I have that I consider high end but not high buck is my Dennis Had Inspire amp. It made sweet music with the L3 but was to underpowered for most of my speakers. Tube rollers dream but needs efficient speakers, sounded really good with 6bg6a tubes

I sure would like to try some of that ARC equipment one day :)

I have heard some very good things about his gear, and it all places it in the high end reproduction wise.

Cool thread! (now a stickie).

Thanks for the stickie. By the way your rig is really impressive. Obviously a lot of thought and effort went into it, and exemplifies what TCE is all about. Beautiful!

Jim

Very nice thread and beautiful gear :thmbsp:

My main system is a WOPL500SS, Perreaux SA3, dbx DX5 CDP, Pioneer PL-550 and CV E-712's. A mix of stuff that makes me smile every time I put the gas to it

This thread will be good for a nice audio porn fix. Looking forward to some naked dual mono amp pics to drool over.

Before I went back to an integrated amp in my main listening system I was on a separates kick.

One piece I ended up really liking was my Audible Illusions L3 pre amp. I paired it with a few different amps, both tube and SS, and it seemed to always bring out the best in them. Believe it or not one of the best pairings with it was a Yamaha P5000s and my DQ20's. That setup was just made beautiful music.

Beautiful peice of equipment, I have been wanting to try one of these out myself.

Someday:thmbsp:

Thanks Mystic, I'm very pleased with the sound regardless if I'm running tubes or ss.

After listening to the MC2300 it really sound very cloes to the other amps which surprised me. The 300w of power and sq under 2000 grand will provide High End to many looking to mac.
