For a lot of us the holidays still seem like a long way off. Many of us will be buying gifts for family, friends and co-workers. We will wake up Christmas morning and watch our family open that gift that they "really wanted" then celebrate with lots of good food.

Now imagine that your 6 year old watches TV and commercials for the cool new toys. The radio plays in your car as you both sing along "He's checking his list, he's checking it twice, gonna find out who'se naughty or nice..Santa Clause is coming to town". Then reality hits, you are struggling to pay your bills and put food on the table. How are you ever going to be able to explain to your child why Santa didn't leave them a gift? You really start to dread the Holidays.

This will be the 7th year that Audiokarma will be doing the "Adopting Families for the Holidays" fund raising. Last year due to the generosity of the members of Audiokarma we were able to adopted 30 families, provide over 3,000 meals to the homeless and donate funds to Childrens Hospitals.

How can you help ?

One of the things that many members like to do is sell or auction off items with the funds going to adopt the families. In the past some of the items auctioned off have been new and old vinyl, equiptment, BBQ rub, drawings, cookies and so many more items. Do you have something that you like to make or something that is just sitting around and you are not sure what to do with it. One mans trash is another mans treasure. Consider auctioning it off, someone else might really enjoy it and any money raised will go to a good cause.

Thank you so much for your continued support with keeping the magic of the Holidays alive for our Children.

Please feel free to list your items for sale, or for auction to benefit this charity.

There is no charge for selling in this forum, all we ask is that the funds generated in this forum, all go to the AK Adopting Families for the Holidays charity through Volunteers of America. You can do this a couple of ways.

1) Send the money to Audiokarma through this link. http://www.audiokarma.org/support.html
Please make sure that you note that the funds are for the Adopt a Family.

2) Mail the funds to

AudioKarma
29488 Woodward Ave
Suite 160
Royal Oak, Michigan 48073
Please let the seller know payment is sent, this way we can let them know when payment arrives.

Either way you choose, please make note on the payment, that it is for our adopted families. Thank you for your continued support.

Due to the generosity of our great membership this year marks the 7th year that we will be Adopting Families for the Holidays.

Been looking forward to this and wondering when it would kickoff.
Thanks to the Grumpys ( or is that Grumpies?) for leading the way again.

I was waiting for Halloween to be over and was going to send Dave a PM to see if we could maybe start early this year.

I'm all in to do whatever I can to help.:)

Thanks Ms G. your work on this is commendable...

I have some original concert posters ready to be posted for families in need, just waiting for it to start

I have several items that will be auctioned off soon for our families. Really looking forward to seeing what sort of cool stuff our generous members put up for this superb charity.

Please be on the lookout as that it is when I will start listing some goodies.

Thanks and take care
Grumpy

I am always humbled by the generosity of the members here. I can't wait to help the first family and share the experience with you.

I went to your last years post, you know the one with all the photos taking people shopping. I wanted to post some of the photos here but they didn't migrate with the format change.

Oh well we'll make new history.

We are hoping to have those pictures transferred over shortly. Thanks

I think that I might still have a few pics somewhere. I am going to look for them today and I will try to post later.

Check and see if you can see the pics now in the 2014 Adopted Families forum. I might have missed one or two.

We are getting close to the pictures being reinserted into the old posts. Thanks for your patience.

Look forward to some fermented grapes treats from France being auctioned off here. 25+ years old and quite divine.

Is it time to start listing stuff and how do we determine when bids end and such? Can I just submit an item and have AK do the rest or do I need to run the auction for my item? Sorry for my ignorance here.

If you do some reading in the forum, of past years' auctions, you will get the idea. You are the best person to promote your item to others.

Thanks for the support.
