"Hey rob, I have a friend who's looking into getting an integrated amp and we've found a blackface MCS 3847 amp which says it was made in Japan. Is there anything you can say about this amp? would you recommend it?"
It's a rebadged NEC AUA-7000E, and is 45 watts per channel. I have one, and I really like the sound. It is the same amp section as in the MCS 3253 receiver. Sounds king of "70s like" if that makes any sense. It has a very nice phono section. Compared to other similar wattage integrateds from the same era, I prefer the 3847. It just does it all "right".
