    McIntosh C55 and C2800

I am dissapointed. It is the same like in the last 15 years. And I am not buying anymore a preamp without a build in streamer.

    MCD550 as a preamp?

Thats exactly the question why we started 11 years ago with audio blind tests. I had the MCD 301 and I asked myself in these days if it is better to go direct to a power amp or via a pre amp. First of all I thought with a pre amp it is better, it sounded "louder", till somebody gave me the hint...

Expierence with my new MC 152

Dear Clubsta, I am sorry, but I will not start again with an Internet page. It is to time consuming. And in the last amp-shootouts which we did in the last year, we could hear no differences at all between the amps (Mark Levinson, Moon Simaudio, Mcintosh & Accuphase). This result was mainly...

Expierence with my new MC 152

I am sorry for this, I took my old amp-shootout page from the internet and wanted to build a new internet side which includes also all my vintage stuff (ca. 500 amps and tuners right now). But I stopped the project and I am not sure if I will go on because it is very time consuming. But I can...

    Trading Down on Power?

I stepped down in the bedroom from a MC252/MCD 301 combination to a MC152/MCD 301 for design reason. MC252/MCD 301 sounded wonderful. MC152/MCD 301 sounds wonderful. Best regards Martin

    C70 /C2152 review

In Hifi&Records there is a wonderful review about the MC2152/C70. The reviewer is talking about a dream team. Alone they are great, but as a combo they are unbeliveable. Power for the MC2152 was 224 Watt for 4 and 8 Ohm (1%, THD, 1 khz) Distortion for MC 2152 was 0,037% (THD+N, 10W, 4 Ohm) S/N...

    Excellent review of MC 462

Good Point. S/N A weighted for MC 452 was 106,0 dB S/N A weighted for MC 611 was 104,0 dB S/N A weighted for MC 462 was 94,7 dB Results for MC 452 and 611 are outstanding. For MC 462 is still very good, despite that it is10 dB lower. Best ever measured amp for S/N in this magazine is...

    Excellent review of MC 462

In the new Hifi & Records - is like the german Stereophile - there is an excellent review of the MC 462. Interessing were also the measurement results for the MC 462. Power for 4 Ohm was 662 Watt and power for 8 Ohms was 618 Watt. This was a little bit better than the MC 452 which they reviewed...

    McIntosh C2700

For me the C2700 is only a further facelift. C2500, C2600 and C2700 are all from the same line up. The same happens with C50, C52 and C53. Or for example MC601 and 611. Good for me, I will save a lot of money. IMHO Mcintosh should come up with a real new line up. Best regards Martin
