Ok, SVS were very quick in answering my mail, even on a sunday :) I've sent them a video and apparently this is considered normal for the SB-1000 :dunno: I'll put it back in service and try and forget about this :idea: :rflmao:

Of course not :) But I expect a modern product like this to be 100% silent with zero signal and everything but the power cord disconnected. A tiny hum of hiss would likely not bother me, but this garbled noise does :rolleyes:

Hi all. I have a question regarding the SVS SB-1000 subwoofer. I've had mine for around 6 months, and lately I've noticed it's making a soft rumbling sound. I'm not sure it was there from the beginning. I can only describe the sound as something like "blblplprplbrblbpblpll" o_O:D It's definitely...

No wireless soundpath here, only wires. And the sound is there with ONLY the power cord plugged in, I tried different mains outlets as well.

Hmm, interesting about the Wi-Fi interference. My router has a switchable wifi, I'll give it a try.

Just to let you know, I found the fault. It was a BC546B transistor on the main amp board, there are 4 of them on this board so they all got changed. How did I find the faulty part ? 1 - narrow down the possibilities : only on channel noisy, does not change at all with ANY control like source...

@avionic thanks ! I did not realise the 2SC3858 + 2SA1494 were MT-200... So what is more appropriate, A1492 / C3856 or NJW0281G / NJW0302G ?
