eddy2264, I really appreciate this info as I have 2 of these at home, one definitely needs this mod. This Receiver I purchased new in 1978 so I am really anxious to get it sing that loud rock that it was made for.

I have these Pioneer HPM-1500's since new, purchased in 1977 while in the Navy with a Kenwood KR-9600. I need to recap my Kenwood KR-9600 and am looking for a replacement Amp or receiver to use in the mean time, so I have a stupid question, what is a good amp/receiver?
