I've made the trip several times. Sometimes I'll cut off in Emporia VA and take Rt 58 to the bay bridge tunnel and take Rt 13 up to the Delaware Memorial Bridge. May take a little longer but you usually don't have to deal with much traffic.

I've had some good luck using a spoon to pry them off, using a cloth or a piece of cardboard to protect the faceplate.

The outer knob should just pull off. I sometimes use a spoon (carefully) as a pry bar to help get them off.

I just did mine. I bought the belts from WJOE radio and they came with a set of instructions that makes the job easier.

I always transfer the tape to reel that has a full slit in it (Teac plastic reels do) and then slice the tape with a razor blade knife. I use a putty knife to protect the other side of the reel so as not to mark it up. Just another idea.

Yes, if I remember correctly. You just need to take the take up reel side panel off. That gives you easy access to it.

I had a noise in mine as well in the counter wheel. A couple of drops of oil made it quiet again.

I use the Realistic 42-2115. Works well.
