    A few Sansui accessories

No, the DAC is not bypassed - they are balanced analogue interconnect cables. If at all possible, I'd suggest trying to find some semi-decent cables with Neutrik XLR connectors and Van Damme, Canare, Mogami or Belden wire. They will not be particularly expensive, but are essentially...

Sansui AU-999 face plate dissasembly struggle

Agreed - I can't ever recall seeing an AU-999 with round toggles - only the square items as per below

New house, new room, same Sansui

It's been a long time between system updates (circa 2020 to be exact) as life, family and work has taken up a lot of my time and shifted my priorities. I was fortunate to move house just before Christmas and have recently finished setting up my audio gear in the new house. 2 channel Front...

    Leestereo's Restoration/Upgrade of a Sansui AU-555A

Here's an interesting one - Sansui "Switch Box" -The Ultimate A/B+ selector (and related discussion)

Very nice! They are quite a cool bit of kit. Note that Sansui x-balanced amps most likely will not tolerate being used on a speaker switch box as the negative/common speaker are often tied together on these devices. To this, X-balanced says no!

    AU999 Pre-amp mod.

The subsonic filter on the 999 impacts on the bass response below 100hz and should be removed regardless of what music you listen to IMHO. Data courtesy of smurfer77 and skippy124 produced something similar.

    Sansui product history

Fully agreed. I'm confident that the AU-501 model does not exist - it is most likely an AU-505.
