Thanks for trying but the question was asking definitively what the weight of the Bias weight is.
It may surprise you but the weight of the bias weight does not actually change according to it's position on the bias scale.
What actually changes is the amount of outward pressure on the tonearm...
An the answer to end all of the speculation is...............................
Sorry ukfan4sure, I know its an old thread but I see you posting today, perhaps you can enlighten us (:

Well I've been distracted by another restore the last couple of months.
Lo and behold I had a look yesterday on the engine and both the Service and Instruction manuals are there in full (from 1967).
Great manuals and much gratitude from me to the provider.
Yes thanks, have the schematic, full SM would be nice that's all.......(and no one would be able to judge how nice until one sees it)
thanks for all the other great info BTW
Hi all, great thread and for me (and others it seems) very timely, as I have recently picked up a TK-66 in very good condition, with a custom case.
Many years in storage, so it was dusty and had the odd spider carcass, but cleaned up nicely and fully operational except a light or 2.
I am...
Hi, I am in the process of acquiring an AU-2200. I noticed that the database lists these as 1985, I think 1975 would be correct, particularly according to the 1975/76 Sansui Catalog available on HIFI Engine.
Will update my newcomers serial number in due course.
(:
Add me to the TP-825D fan club, lovely tt.
However, whilst I am happy to play mine manually, I would love to get the auto mechanism to work again properly again.
Nothing I've tried so far has been successful, have it open on the table for the 2nd time right now.
It seems the auto mechanism does...
Then you haven't got the one that I advised, here is the link (Sansui-5050-Service-Manual - Hifi Vintage), sounds like you have the one from HiFi Engine, which is incomplete. Hope this helps.
