  • Hi - Sorry it's taken some time to reply, school has been dominating my life recently. You know I'd never really looked at the woofers that closely until you asked. I can't really tell, but it seems the cones are firm, but not hard or brittle. So based on your description, I'd say they're probably the paper type.

    I would recommend a recap including the ps filter caps bypass the filters with a film cap, replace all the outputs with matched transistors. More than likely it will need the diff pairs replaced with matched pairs. The bias needs to be set to spec. Parts around 100.00 - 150.00 PS caps are getting spendy and the 20 transistors labor well these are one of the most miserable pieces to work on I would need to think on this it takes many hours to get the transistors out and back in.... major PITA
